weak below freezing

The pun is intentional. This weather makes me want to stay curled up under the covers until it thaws out - which usually is around the end of April.

And yet, errands, work, mommy-hood call so I’m up and dressed and harassing my children to do the same. Their little eye-rolls confirm for me that I’m completely insane for wanting to move around in this kind of weather. Of course, the fact that I have to keep the house at 60 degrees and their only nod to winter is to add a t-shirt to their underwear sleeping, could have something to do with it, too.

Today is my “day off.” Which means the list looks like this: Take the dog to the groomer, go to the bank, go to the bookstore to look for DS1’s present, go to Target to buy dog-food, meet stressed-out friend for lunch, pick up dog, clean something at the house, decide what I’m going to play for the Christmas Tea at church this evening, shower and dress for the tea, pack computer and DVDs for the boys to amuse themselves, feed the dog, pick up DS2, then pick up DS1 and eat something on the way to church (this one really bugs me, because I should be able to figure out how to get them a hot home-cooked meal, but I can’t) and be at church to rehearse with the dysfunctional gospel band by 5:00 for a tea that starts at 6:30 and lasts until probably 8:00, race the boys home for bed (and the rest of the homework, which I’m sure they won’t finish while I’m in the fellowship hall and they’re in my office.)

Sounds like another night for Vlad and Mik, don’t you think?
