heat wave
The morning weather casters are all jocular about how much “warmer” it is than yesterday. Yesterday the temperature was below zero. Yesterday the wind chill was below -20.
TODAY it is “balmy” (one of them actually used that term) because the temperature is 7 degrees above zero.
It’s this sort of strange mind game that keeps people from screaming as they flee the state forever.
