So the stumper of a question I’ve been working on (from KO, mentor) is Why am I doing this work? What do I get out of it? What’s in it for me?

He’s not looking for sound bites and platitudes.

Shit. I can come up with those!

What is my pay-off in gut-level terms? What do words flee from my mind when confronted with that question? It’s the closest to having a blank mind I think I’ve been.
