ATG fun for the holiday weekend

Accordionists and
Teachers
Guild
(international)
Annual festival being held in Bloomington. Started last Thursday. At the old Thunderbird Hotel (now called Ramada Mall of America..but still complete with the original decorating.)
Much fun.
We played for the opening concert last night. JCS ‘introduced’ us, which amounted to her free opportunity to perform a magnificent exhibit of “leveling” in which she told [...]

task force part deux

So BD (council pres) is “sick”…damn, why didn’t I think of that? oh, yeah, because I’m going to use it tomorrow.
EE and MI and ‘the other one’ don’t show up. So all we have are DV, BM, SG - members of the WAM committee, JAS, wife of the pastor and musician, PP and, of course, [...]

The problem with secrets

is that you have to keep them. And then you end up living a bit of lie in order to do that.
For instance. I am keeping the secret that I have accepted a new position at a different church that doesn’t start until September 1.
So, until I tell the secret - give notice - I [...]

doggie dreams

Libby is napping on my bed as I surf and blog. Streched across the pillows like a princess, she is chasing cats in her sleep, with little titches of her feet and whines of frstration as they escape through the fence. How unfair that they do that in her dreams too!

PrSR & NR’s House Blessing

Just got back from the house blessing for the R’s. What a fun party. I didn’t stay til the end because of all the things going around in my head.
1. I was remembering our house blessing for this house 7 years ago. DS1 would have been 8 and DS2 was 5 1/2. Now they’re 15 [...]

How do people do this?

It’s all fine and dandy to say “pray” and “rely on your friends” and “strengthen your support network.”
When it comes to the end of the day, how do people get through this?
Isn’t it bad enough to realize that you can’t stay in the relationship anymore?
Even though this county tries to make the process “civilized” it [...]

The only thing left to do

You probably think I’m crazy. Well, actually, if you’re reading this, you probably know me and know I’m crazy but not for this reason.
I’m not sure how many people reach the level of stress I’m at these days. The only thing that seems to help is prayer and either the kind of prayer where I [...]

so far, so sucky

XH is convinced that my concern about his internet pornography addiction is still misplaced and so, despite not having a place to have them live, he’d like to have joint physical custody.
Should we get to a point where I have to agree to shared physical custody, it is unlikely that I will get any child [...]

here we go…

I am by turns, calm and peaceful and floating in the middle of the stream, and spinning and tumbling in the rapids and feeling ready to cry.
My mind is tumbling around all the ‘issues’ we’ve had and replaying all those disagreements.
And I’m trying to tell myself that this meeting is not going to cover any [...]

Perfect Summer Day

I just have to note that today, being the first day of summer, was a beautiful day.
Even now, as the sun slooooowly sets (we have maybe another hour and a half of sunlight to go) it is a perfect temperature,
perfect humidity,
clear blue sky,
birds chirpping
light breeze
mmmmmm
