“Must Love Dogs”

Saturday was a Diane Lane movie festival. “Must Love Dogs” AND “Under the Tuscan Sun.”
Tuscan Sun still makes me cry at points.
If “Dogs” is really what on-line dating is like, count me OUT. I’ll save my money for “It’s Just Lunch.”

why do I do this?

Somtimes, I seriously think I’m a workaholic. Yesterday, I had a 2 hour ISAIAH meeting, at my house after church. And then worked on “the project” for a couple hours. So that was a full day of work, and then Vespers at the house (which had a good crowd BTW, but people stayed until 10.)
Today, [...]

S-A-TUR-DAY Night! Blech!

I watched the boys climb in the car with their dad and head off for the “Family Reunion.” They are staying overnight there, so this probably marks the first of many Saturday nights I’ll spend alone.
I was wondering yesterday about how the whole rest of that side of the family views this divorce thing. No [...]

pictures

The photo doesn’t really do the oozy thing on Libby’s neck justice. It’s too late (thankfully) to get a better (worse?) picture because it really is healing quickly.
But how cute is this dog and boy picture?

Libby “the adventure poodle” update

The vet called this morning. It seems the big icky oozing bump on Libby’s neck was not a mucocele (blocked salivary gland). It was indeed an infection/abcess.
The good news is that the antibiotic should knock it out and it won’t require surgery.
It is getting better (smaller) everyday. It seemed a little scabbed over this morning, [...]

2+ jobs. Again.

A couple of days ago, I was thinking that this freelance job was an answer to prayer. It still may be that, but it’s also just as possible that it’s from the devil. Here’s what I mean.
Yesterday I had the first meeting with JL. We’ve worked together before, back in the day when I was [...]

And I thought these online quiz things were crap…

You Are Midnight

You are more than a little eccentric, and you’re apt to keep very unusual habits.
Whether you’re a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence – you like to experiment with your lifestyle.
Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world [...]

site meter reflections

So, if you’re reading this (and I know some people are!) you may not be aware that I have a visit counter through sitemeter.com. It’s a handy little script that keeps track of IP addresses and/or ISP, location, page visits and duration of those that visit this little corner of the cyber-universe.
It seems that I [...]

eeeewwwww

So the hot compresses are working on Libby. The swelling is beginning to drain.
I’m so glad it won’t require surgery. I just hope the labs come back negative for something worse than a block salivary glad.

amazing answer

I don’t know why I worry so.
So I spent the evening pouting about not being able to make enough money to pay all the bloody bills.
The phone rings at 10:06. Who the heck is calling at this hour?
Turns out it’s JL, whom I haven’t heard from since…April, I think. He’s desperate for an instructional design [...]
