day 1 without boys
Don’t know why, but I’m feeling like they’re going to be gone sooooo long. And, to paraphrase Yarn Harlot, this feeling is tempered with the clear and certain knowledge that they stopped thinking about me as soon as the car turned the corner.
Of course, this being DS2’s first week away at camp, I’m constantly wondering how he’s doing, whether he’s putting on sun-screen, making friends, or able to avoid the flies and skeeters.
This morning, I got up and worked a bit on “the project.” Had breakfast and read the daily lectionary. I worked a bit on my control journal and threw in a load of wash.
Then more “project.” Finished and invoiced. We’ll see if there’s more work as they review more this week.
Around 11:30, I made a chicken salad for lunches and dinners this week and then headed over to SAPLC around 12:30.
I worked on picking choir music and a little worship planning for September. Things are progressing right on schedule. I’m at the phase where I don’t think they have a thing worth singing in their library and I’ll never find anything for them to sing. Of course, I couldn’t find the computerized library file, so couldn’t do searches, and had left SB’s notes from the last couple of years (including the list from 3 years ago, when the lectionary was exactly the same as this year) at home.
Ugh. This is a prime example of wanting an office either all at the church or all at home. It’s so frustrating! To be one place and have left vital information at the other! Bah!
Stopped over at Daytons…I mean Marshall Fields…I mean Macy’s… to buy a new BRA. (whoo hoo!) I figure “the project” had to be good for at least one overpriced undergarment. And since I can’t really remember the last time I bought a new “good” bra, I figured it was next on the list…as opposed to, say, teddies or thong underpants (which BTW, I don’t imagine will ever find a place in my underwear drawer. Just say ick.)
Then I stopped quick to fill up the gas tank since all the news has been about the impending price hike and my week is scheduled to include lots of back-and-forth between the city and Ham Lake. Even with boys at camp. Go figure. Maybe I can use it as an excuse to get out of some stuff.
What I didn’t seem to have time for today is CLEANING. dammit.
YM emailed today and would like to bring over some small things tomorrow after chapel. I told her I could come and fetch her around 2:30 (after a counselor appointment.)
Of course, I’m still procrastinating the phone call to the campaign office and since it’s now 5:30, I guess that won’t get done today either.
Well, I guess I should attack DS2’s old room for a bit before it’s time to leave for the GIA music reading session tonight.
