kicked in the gut again

Sometimes my friends really piss me off.

DS1 had soccer practice at 6AM this morning.

Did you hear that? 6:00 in the blessed MORNING. Since I’m out of pocket all week with CPE orientation I said I could drive to practice.

That meant that I was awake at 5 and out of bed by 5:20. After letting the dog out and in, we’re in the car and over at DL’s by 5:37.

No lights on. DS1 knocks on the door. Knocks again and finally JL (the dad) comes and says DL (the boy) will be right out. 4 minutes later I shut off the car to save gas.

20 minutes later I tell DS1 to go knock again. JL informs him that LL (the mom) just left with DL.

WTF!!!!!!!

I’m sitting out in a cold car for 20 minutes waiting for your kid and you go out the back door and drive off?

I cried most of the way home. And please don’t tell me I shouldn’t be so upset about something as “little” as this. Please don’t tell me what to feel at all.

After I’m done writing this I’m going to call her and talk with her about it, but I can kind of hear what she’ll say already. I’m sure she’ll appologize and of course I’ll forgive her. But don’t tell me I shouldn’t feel hurt.

I would have been totally pissed! I probably would have had a major attitude with the dad that answered the door, maybe with a “Gee, thanks for letting me know.”

But, you are a better person than I and you handled yourself with class. Hats off to you!

abbagirl, I don’t know if it was class so much as sheer shock. But thanks for the kudos.
