In the zone
We’re at hour 12 of my first 24 hour on-call. So far, so….hehehe. You can’t get me to jinx it that easily!
I think I’m getting past this surly can’t-you-see-how-effing-busy-I-am-why-don’t-you-give-a-damn stage and moving into the zen of it. the zone. Maybe it’s what Wil Wheaton calls the “weird place.” Could there be a “weird place” for being busy like there is for music or acting or writing?
Although I am also reminded of a Public Service Announcement I heard this morning on the radio about Bi-polar disorder (formerly known as Prince…I mean Manic-Depressive disorder.)
PSA: (paraphrased. it was 12 hours ago, people.) Do you find yourself rested and raring to go after only a few hours of sleep?
Me: uh, no.
PSA: Do find yourself getting more done than the average person?
Me: uh, yeah! haven’t you been paying attention?
PSA: Do you find it hard to settle down and relax?
Me: only because I’m always late or need to do something for someone. If I had three minutes back to back I’d fall asleep.
PSA: You might have Bi-polar disorder…
Me: I wish. I might enjoy these insane schedule jags a little more then.
Ok. I know. One should never ever even in jest wish for a disease/disorder whatever. But I only meant it as an alternative to NoDoz. Honest.
I’m going to try to catch some zzz’s under the assumption that someone will decide to die tonight and I’ll get paged.
g’night.
