reckless decisions

Ok. Here’s the deal.

I’m calling in sick tomorrow. Actually, I’ll call it a “self-care day.” It’s another experiment to see if I can take a day to take care of myself and my outrageously over scheduled self, or cave to “responsibilities” and go in “because it’s expected.”

What tomorrow was supposed to include:

  • CPE group, wherein I present Verbatim #2
  • On the unit from 1-5
  • Mid-term conferences at 2 schools (middle and high school)
  • finding guitar, bass and hand-drummer for Oct 8
  • deposit checks in the bank
  • Project #2 from JL, “project man” (a.k.a. $500-600 extra bucks)

Plus, I would like to accomplish this before Saturday:

  • shopping for stuff for Saturday night (mascara, spanx, date shoes(?))

However, in order to have the Verbatim ready and work on Project #2, I would have to stay up all night, thereby falling even further behind and being even less presentable for Saturday Date Night OR Sunday Oct 8 BIG Event.

So, I’ve decided to call in sick. I will still need to turn in Verbatim #2, but I could sleep in (get rested) write my little fingers to the bone on both Verbatim and Project and end up with several hundred dollars in the kitty (which will help pay for the date night supplies–not to mention groceries and electricity.)

Also, it will be a lot easier to make it conferences. (It’s one of those deals where you don’t sign up for a time in advance…just show up and wait and hope to talk to all the teachers.)
