Shopping - a new experience

Ok. I have to admit that I’m probably pretty strange, but I usually hate shopping. When I was a teenager, I was about a size 2. Back then there wasn’t such a thing as a size 2. Seriously. I had to either wear oversized stuff, or wear clothes that fit but were ‘babyish.’ (This was a while ago. a long while ago.)

Then there were the panicky trips trying to find “concert wear.” It’s hard to believe now, but there were many times when I was on the hunt for a black skirt or a white blouse and there were none to be had at any price. Ok. Maybe at some price, but not one my mom would have paid. Or not a blouse or skirt I would have been caught dead in.

Anyway, shopping became for me an exercise in frustration at not being able to find what I wanted to wear in a size that fit my body.

Fast forward to adulthood. I’m no longer a size 2 (still carrying around a bunch of “baby fat”), still don’t have buckets full of cash and it still takes a really long time to shop only to find that the idea in my head of what I want to wear doesn’t exist.

Ok. So this time, I went about this completely differently.

I found this top:
blouseA gored faux-suede skirt (can’t find a picture)

and these boots (gaaa! I finally get the shoes thing!!!)
hotbootsand TODAY I found a pashmina for $25!!!

OK. these pictures don’t really give you the whole idea of how fantabulous this outfit is. I’ll have to figure out a way to get a picture on here tomorrow.

Ok. Somehow I’ve stayed up late enough to be watching my boyfriend, Craig Ferguson.

Given the way the next 36 hours are planned, I probably won’t update until Sunday night and by that time, I expect to need a Wine IV and since it will be my birthday, I expect to get one, dammit!
