Neilochka…I love you!

And Christmahanukwanzaakah too!
So, you’ve heard of Neil before. He’s this nice Jewish man that lives in LA, only right now he is in NYC visiting his mom and her new boyfriend (I think Neil may have gotten into some bad turkey leftovers…but that’s speculation for another day.)
Anyway.
I ‘ve had a blog crush on Neil for [...]

Shoulder pain mysteriously disappears

I suspect my shoulder pain had something more than carrying around a few books at it’s root. Because sometime around Monday afternoon I realized “it doesn’t hurt anymore!”
Somehow, I think it was also related to a blockage in the area of my 1st chakra, that was addressed Saturday night.
It is amazing to me how the [...]

Should be writing another verbatim

But I have to get a few things down here to clear my mind.
As I review Thanksgiving weekends, this year’s has to rank right up there as one of the top three.
3. The first year I cooked the meal and got everything to be done at the same time and on the table while it [...]

A day off

Yesterday was quite nice. It started with a lovely breakfast at Day by Day Cafe with a nice young man (31!!) of Norwegian descent who is an engineer. Unlike the other Engineer, this guy could talk and laugh and tell funny stories. We had a very nice time and it seems possible that he will [...]

Thankful for…

Today, I’m thankful that:

my divorce is final
my kids were with me this year
CPE is almost done
I’ve started to rebuild my life
I’ve got some sort of relationship with my mom and my sister…as weird as it is
wine is cheap
YM (my housemate) has offered to “be not home” if I want to entertain someone here sometime

The Holidays begin

Choir is over. I’m home. The boys are sleeping at X’s. And I’m 1/2 way through a really big scotch.
BUI..not as life-threatening as DUI but far more potential for embarassing rambling.
Blogging under the influence. mmmmm gotta love it.
Caught the last half of “Medium.” You can learn a lot from TV. For instance, I learned that [...]

Thank your first commenter day

Per Neil over at Citizen of the Month, today is “Thank your first commenter day.”
So, thanks to you, Dan! You left my very first comment on this blog way back in April of 2005!
Who knows if Dan ever came back. Sure doesn’t seem like it, but thanks anyway.
And super thanks to those of you [...]

Tagged - untold truths

I’ve been tagged by Abbagirl74 to tell five untold truths about myself. I’ve never done one of these tags before. It might be a little tough, since I feel like I’m a pretty open-book type of person, but maybe I haven’t mentioned everything here.
1) Despite the fact that I am capable and organized and usually [...]

I am an idiot

None of you pointed it out, which is polite, but dangerous. Although maybe it has to do with the disconnected nature of reading instead of talking.
I shared the Bill the Trainer story with a friend today. The look on his face made it clear that I am an idiot.
I am not going to go back [...]

Welcome!

11/18/08 Note: In preparation for being away from the computer for a while, I've turned off comment moderation because I want you to be able to interact with my guest posters. Be good while I'm gone kids!

Welcome to the new (and hopefully permanent) home of This Journey. It's good to have people walking along, especially during the bumpy parts. I can be contacted at not.fainthearted at gmail dot com. Or leave a comment!
