Kickin’ out da funk

Abbagirl! I was just about to post when I read your comment first. You are absolutely right.

Got. To. Get. Out.Of.Da.Funk.

Why does this feel a little bit like an old Batman episode?

  • Anyway, the sun is shining today. That helps.
  • I got caught up with some of my deadlines last night. That helps.
  • Have decided that if people what Christmas cookies they can buy them. That helps.
  • Decided to swear off boys until after the new year. Uh…I don’t know if that helps but I’m going to give it a try, mostly because I don’t have time for the drama.
  • I realized that despite the usual funkadeliciousness I usually feel this time of year, I actually have my oxygen mask on firmly and it’s only a little smoke that’s leaking in. So, perspective…That helps.
  • Realized that this is the hell week and that next week it will all be over…the deadlines are Monday so it’s push hard through the weekend and then sit back and coast next week. That helps a TON because the idea of two weeks like this in a row was making me sick.
  • I’m looking forward to working with my friend LN again. And having a little better cash flow (I hope, I hope, I hope.) That helps.
  • With a little better cash flow I’m actually going to start taking golf lessons and I’m really starting to look forward to that. That helps.
  • Found a Pilates class that meets on Thursday nights. If I can get into it, it totally takes the pressure off having a date that night or sitting home alone. That helps.
  • Have come to the realization that the holidays are going to suck no matter what I do. If they suck a little less or a little more it’s got no cause and effect relationship to how good a Mom or person I am. That helps.
  • I think I’m getting a modest digital camera for Christmas from my mom. I’m getting excited about taking pictures again. That helps.

So yes, thanks. I am still kickin‘ ass and takin‘ names and Da Funk has a limited time engagement in this town.
