Still sad
The boys just left for the weekend. After a little over two years (well, only about six months of overnights) it still makes me sad to have them gone. Even though it could mean I could have a “social life” I just wonder when (or if) I’ll not miss them quite so much.
As for “social life” this weekend, the big plans are limited to rehearsals, cleaning and cooking.
Rehearsals for the SPVF concert (PDQ Bach piece called “The Seasonings”) and for the choral Vespers with my church choir on Sunday.
Cleaning and cooking because after the Vespers service the whole choir (or as many as come) and Significant Others will come over to the house for spaghetti pot-luck.
I started the meat sauce this afternoon. (I’m just about to put it on the porch for the night…thank goodness for a cold snap because if I couldn’t use the porch for a refridgerator I don’t know how I’d be able to cook in advance for this.) And I cleaned the kitchen.
Tomorrow, after rehearsals, I’ll do the non-meat sauce and clean the living room, dining room and first floor bath.
I know. It’s all too glamourous for mere mortals to comprehend. It really sounds like the life-style of the rich and famous, doesn’t it?
Actually, I love entertaining and am really looking forward to everyone being here.
I just wish the boys were going to be here too.
I also kind of wish I had a little actual social life on the calendar. Not that I know when I’d squeeze it in, but as I’ve said before, a little hugging isn’t a bad thing.

Hope you don’t have any little critters that want to help themselves to dinner!

LOL. No. No critters are out in this weather. And not on my porch.
