Bad moves all around, no doubt

edit: I corrected a few spelling and grammatical errors this morning. Never blog after beers, friends. Just don’t do it.

I got virtually nothing done today on LN’s projects. DS2 stayed home from school, claiming “stomach ache” but it turns out more like muscle strain from playing “Foosocky” a combination of football, soccer and hockey on an a park ice rink yesterday. Poor kid could hardly walk today.

Then I went to church and “the band” played for a sing-a-long before the congregational budge meeting. Luckily, as a non-voting staff member, I didn’t need to stay. More luckily, the organist (AB) and a choir member (WH) also didn’t want/have to be there. So the three of us went out for a beer. We went to Barley John’s Brew Pub which is a place I’ve written about before I think. I’ll probably have to write up a little review on this one. To counter balance the Village Pub. But I digress.

It was a great time. Right up until WH went to the men’s room and AB asked me about when my divorce had become final. She’s been divorced for a while (she’s about 60, I think) and so I mentioned that my divorce had been final since Oct 13 and I’d had my first date on Oct 14.

This of course was a mis-truth on several levels, as my actual first date was Oct 7. But my first date with SaxMan was Oct 13. (Freudian? I don’t know.) She had no way of knowing any of that, but asked all these questions about who I went on a date with on Oct 13 and was I still “dating” him. And I had no good answers. None. Zero. I mean a “good” answer is not “he plays saxophone and wears a kilt sometimes.” In fact, that answer was hysterical…especially as far as AB and WH were concerned. Nor was “define dating” a good answer. Nor “well, that was him on the phone earlier.”

It was hysterically funny in a “OMG I hope they really don’t tell everybody about this” way. Apparently, I’m still trying to figure out how “dating” fits in with being a church music director.

Probably WAY over-thinking this. (shocked. I know.)

Tomorrow cannot include anywhere near the amount of slacking that today had.

You think you might be over-thinking?

Aha, but the occasional slacking can be fun and needed. Good for you!
