Grand (canyon) Ideas part 2

I had to make flight arrangements today because work is paying for my flight and one of the boys (they’ll pay for 1 significant other.) We got early morning flights for April 26…early enough that we arrive in Phoenix at 6:30 a.m. local time.  (!!!!)
At least that will leave us plenty of time to get [...]

It’s not easy to see green

We’ve had such mild winters lately. Even this year with the 2 weeks of below zero blast was “moderate” compared to winters in the 80’s and earlier. Now, with the dumping of snow this weekend it looks like early winter, not almost spring. And they’re predicting another series of storms between Wednesday and Saturday resulting [...]

struggling to be good to myself

Throughout most of my life I have never experienced the exercise “high” that people claim. It has always been a burden to me and also made me more hungry, not curbed my appetite.
But recently, like back in January, I actually experienced this endorphine rush resulting from exercise. It was amazing! I really did feel better [...]

Grand (canyon) Ideas

I got the information today about my work trip to Arizona at the end of April. Turns out the boys are able to come down with me for the Friday evening service of Investiture. I’m trying to work it out so they could fly home with KA’s husband.
So, it occurs to me that if we [...]

And now for something completely important

It’s all well and good to take a few hours out of a week to watch a mindless self-congratulatory show, like the Oscars. Even if it was one of the worst shows of the last many years. But let’s not forget that whether the speeches were good or the dresses were horrible is not really [...]

Oscars. meh

Is it just me or did it seem like all the interns got their chance this year? Not that I’ve got anything against interns. But the show just seemed to drag. The direction was sloppy. Very strange shots that had nothing to do with what was going on. I mean, why are we seeing 3-4 [...]

10:35 p.m. Maybe some snow?

Looks like the weatherservice may have come close on this one. Given the look of the back steps, I think I already have 6-7 inches out there. They say it’s going to snow like this all night.
What a weekend for the boys to be with X.

Murder in the backyard

I think there has been a heinous murder committed in my very backyard. Ok. Actually my side yard.
I looked out my kitchen window Wednesday morning to this scene.

As I looked along the sidewalk, I could see where the victim was brought down:

Finally, it seems the perpetrator wasn’t smart enough to contain the crime scene. This [...]

I couldn’t wait

I’m a bad person. The ban on non-essential spending is not over but I spent $9.99 and downloaded the Cat Empire album “Two Shoes” from iTunes.

It really rocks.

Tehran bombing linked to U.S. backed terrorists

Well, here we go. I can just imagine that plenty of people are screaming that this evidence that the U.S. is involved is trumped up. Sort of like how there are people screaming that the evidence against Iran being involved with is trumped up. This is from a UPI (united press international) story published on [...]
