I finally got a contracting check in the mail today; for 3 invoices worth. Once I get that puppy into the bank (early early tomorrow morning) (and subtract all the bank charges I’ve accumulated the last couple of weeks) I’ll be able to send in a deposit on Holden Village and pay a big chunk off the lawyer (divorce) bill.
As the rest of the invoices come in, it’s my intention to reserve the amount I need to make bills each month, over and above what I’m making at the church and then to pay down the line of credit and the credit card. Hopefully, then, the actual amount between what I’m making at the church and the total monthly budget will be less.
Still under a “no unnecessary spending” rule. Just so you know, vacation for the boys (and for me) is Necessary. But no furniture, or new clothes, yarn, CDs, books, music, etc.. Well, except underwear and bras.
It feels good to be out of the immediate red. It will feel even better to have these longer term debts retired.

I feel the same way. I am getting by with child support and what I make in my business but border red on occasion. This year, no unnecessary spending either. so far I have done pretty well! Feels good doesn’t it? Of course, I could shop for underwear and bras every day and get a fix. Ha. In all seriousness, congrats!
