Did it!
Finished by deadline! 5 course modules. There are two more for next week’s sessions, but I have until Monday to finish those.
The Gerhardt conference was good today. It was especially good for me to be there.
Not only to see my friends; although that was very good.
Not only to learn a little bit, not the least of which was that my Masters program was very very good; although that was very good to learn.
Not only to hear glorious and beautiful music; although Cantata #92 was very beautiful and very well sung.
But also to just take that time. To take the time for silence within the vespers service. To sing the liturgy. To hear the Word (both in the service and in the break-out sessions.) To lean back into the pew and let my shoulders drop and to just enter into the silence.
It’s a different silence than sitting home alone. It’s personal but corporate. And that’s something we don’t get much in this day and age.
It did feel healing.

Great job on getting the deadline. Did my comment about a vacation seem funny? It’s just that you really have been so busy. Just wondering. We all need a break. I had to go to Seattle for work. While it was nice to visit, I couldn’t wait to get home. There’s no place like home. Gotta love Kansas (can you note the sarcasm in my typing?).
