springing ahead

We’re well into week 2 of the time change and I still am not sleeping. I go to bed at a decent hour (between 10 and 11) and lay there not sleeping sometimes until 2 a.m.

I’m not worrying over any particular thing. I don’t even feel like my mind is whirring. I just am not sleeping. Nothing has really changed about my end of day routine from before the time change. I work too much. I don’t exercise enough (still haven’t been back to the gym) but I eat a balanced diet. I could do better on drinking my water. But that is no different than at the beginning of the month when I was sleeping well.

And then at 5 or 5:30 I wake up. Not for good. I can usually doze until 6:30 or 7 but at that point I’ve got to get a start on my day. 7 is actually late.

I’m exhausted when I wake. I’m exhausted when I go to bed. But I’m not falling asleep.

It’s getting old.

Oh. And the “protest” turned out to be a “vigil.” I’m a little disappointed about the one I picked to attend. I can hold vigils my own self. In fact, I’m particularly well positioned to organize vigils. I was looking to attend a protest. So I’ll have to keep looking.

I’m not sleeping that much either. I have that problem when it starts getting warmer and my hibernation tendencies wear off.
