oooh goody!

The first Read-through rehearsal got done a full hour earlier than scheduled. Even though I was LATE because Z&A’s plane was one time but baggage took forever and we had to eat and accidently found this amazing little neighborhood restaurant. As in “Oh, the rib place on Hiawatha Ave is closed because it’s Monday, but I’ve already pulled into the turn lane so we have to turn. Hey, there’s a little restaurant. Have you ever eaten there?” And it turns out to be one of those hole-in-the-wall gems of italian food. REAL food. Not like the stuff I had on Saturday at Italian Cucina that was over salted. Gnocchi that was so tender it made me weep and little pizzas on home made crusts that were crispy and with goat cheese that made Z remark “God bless goats.” And, being Monday, it was 1/2 price bottle of wine day.

So it’s no wonder I was a teensy bit late to the first rehearsal.

Cast is fabulous. I could have brought the accordion and taught the first couple of songs but The Director thought she’d have all sorts of “process” talk to fill the time. Oh well!

And, because the board is freakishly uncooperative, costumes will not be done tomorrow night. They will have a regular rehearsal and I am Not Called. Which means I can FINISH PACKING and finish whatever LN’s projects I need to get in the can before I blow town for a week.

A little sad isn’t it that we’ve only just begun and already I’m rejoicing at having an unexpected free night. Chalk it up to sliding into this project on a wing and a prayer, not to mention not enough sleep and no recovery from the last big project (ie. EASTER.)

At least it was well begun.

    You wept over gnocchi? Whoa.

I wonder where on the bell curve of cooperativeness lies “freakishly un-”

There’s a bell curve of cooperativeness? Is that like the Pareto Principal of Preparedness?
