stora dimun shawl

First blocking. I’m too lazy to get the pins out. If this doesn’t give me a blocking I like I’ll do it over.

This pattern is from the Folk Shawls book by Interweave Press. It’s knit in Silky Wool (a wool/silk blend.) It took 2 more skeins that I calculated so I don’t know if my gauge was off (doesn’t seem to be by the measurements) or if the skeins aren’t really true to their yardage. Still, it fits me well. The back point falling about at the bottom of my bum (not too long) and the arm points long enough to wrap around or stay over my arms if I choose to just drape it.

This is the yarn I bought on vacation last August. I started the shawl then. Put it down around Thanksgiving, when schedules started to go berserk and picked it up again in Lent. Because apparently I needed the knitting therapy. I’m excited that I’ll get to take it on my trip.

It’s lovely! Shawls feel so comforting when there is a little chill in the air, don’t they?

Wow, very impressive! I bet the drape is fabulous with the silk content. Enjoy!
