Reason #17098572
You know how some people, when someone dies, will say something like “God called them home.” or “God needed another angel in heaven.” or some other lame statement that makes it sound like the Ol’ Mighty (as Therapydoc calls it…and I like that) is sitting around scheduling people for death.
Anyway. This is not a post about the theological reasons why I think that kind of platitude theology is lame. This is a post about why, from logical point of view, this just cannot be.
Afterall, would the omnipotent creator of the universe really “need” to call these two to heaven on the same day? Just think of the arguments in the lobby!

I can’t say that I’m upset that Falwell’s dead. May all his horrible statements and judgements go with him.

churlita,
I couldn’t agree more. Sadly, those of Jerry’s judgemental persuasion are not in short supply.

Dude, if I were God, I would totally call people home in weird combinations, for that very reason.
