Arranged Bokays

I had to stop and read this sign twice, finally sounding it out before I could figure out what they meant.

A year ago on This Journey I was playing at the ATG.

ATG fun for the holiday weekend 2006

You know, I could really use a post card,

with specific instructions about what I’m supposed to do. I’m just saying.
Yesterday, SH told me he has resigned as music director at G.A. That’s the church I started at 20+ years ago. The church the kids and X still go to and the place where “our” friends have become “his” friends. But it’s also a [...]

God, grant me a measure of your grace and forgiveness

According to the Christian Alliance for Progress, there has been a formal apology from former leaders of an ex-gay ministry. CAPBlog doesn’t give any analysis or comment other than to provide links to two of the formal statements (here and here.)
For me, I give thanks to God that Michael Bussee, Darlene Bogle and Jeremy [...]

What we have here,

is [yet another] failure to communicate.
The boys were supposed to stay at X’s tonight. So they could get up early to go to N&M’s farm with X to mow.
I came home from the movie at 11:00 p.m. to find teenager shoes all over the entry way.
Apparently, X “forgot” that DS2 had a baseball game tomorrow [...]

I know I said I was painting

I’m going to see Oceans 13 with the guy I had a beer with last week.
I wish my expectations were higher.
I wish I could still find myself expecting to be swept away. Doesn’t mean I couldn’t be, can’t be, won’t be. Just means I’m not expecting it. And I liked the expectation part, too,

Let me see if I understand….

“Where the First Amendment is implicated, the tie goes to the speaker, not the censor.”
CHIEF JUSTICE JOHN G. ROBERTS Jr., in a ruling that relaxed restrictions on pre-election television ads.
But this only applies to rich (mostly) white guys who own giant corporations. Not to kids holding goofy signs outside (and across the street from) school [...]

I’m sure there’s more, but I’ll tell you later

New printer. Wireless, which is cool. More expensive than I’d like but I have a scanner that works with OSX now, so there’s that.
So when I get tired of working and blogging and fooling with Photoshop, I can scan in old pictures. Like of my grandpa, or of me at prom (!!!)
Or make copies of [...]

sluggish Monday

I’m wiped out. I’m blaming it on the bout of gastrointeritis I had when I got home last night from the show. Not on the balls-to-the-wall running that was my weekend. No. That couldn’t be it. Because that was fun and fun never wears you out! Ask any 2-year-old.
It’s the 2 hours of upset tummy. [...]

a Great weekend

Friday night, I did theater with a great bunch of people (did I mention that McKilt brought 5 people to that show? No. Well, not much more to tell there. Aside from the bit o’ confusion it raises. More on that a different day, maybe.)
Saturday, I got my house clean. (The downstairs anyways.)
I did theater [...]
