in summary…

It finally rained about 5:00. It poured actually. As in flooding streets and freeways.

We didn’t get through the whole show. Again. Partly because we started so late because the board (with the props and the tent and “stumps”) didn’t show up until after we were supposed to have started, and partly because it rained a little bit and no one had made reservations for us to be able to use the inside space, and partly because, well, we just don’t have it down yet.

Tech week will indeed be ‘hell week.’

I took myself out for a very nice dinner (at Ruby Tuesdays. I know it’s a chain and I disdain chains, but I was able to park in a parking ramp and not get drenched) between rehearsal and the concert.

It was great to see Don again. His choir sounds terrific and the kids that were in the two bell choirs were very accomplished. The four of us went out afterwards and got caught up. I was also (finally) able to get evaluations from Z & A about McKilt from SH’s party a couple of weeks ago. I’m happy to report here that they both gave positive reviews of said gentleman caller and A went so far as to say something along the lines of “handsome” (always nice to have a girlfriend concur on this) and “seems to really like you.” And, yes. I might be 13 years old.

Z had a copy of the book he edited. It’s available on Amazon.com and I’d put the link up, but given the fact that I doubt any of you are really interested in a festschrift on a guy who pioneered Lutheran choir schools, it would be a bit of a waste, wouldn’t it? Despite the limited appeal, it is so cool that he has done this. Not only because the person of honor deserves it, but because it is going to be great on Z’s list of accomplishments.

Also, YM was home when I got home tonight. She has permission to stay in the US for 3 more years, although the visa is actually a 5 year visa (I don’t get that part…the immigration lawyer will have to explain it to me…) She is so relieved and so are all of us who love and care about her.
