do you ever wonder
if you are getting so good at the self-sufficiency thing that people don’t think you need them? That being, or at least looking so competitent and well-adjusted (even if it’s just a mask) keeps men away because they don’t think they can be a hero for you somehow?
I didn’t either, until recently.
Damned if you’re needy. Damned if you’re not.

That depends if you’re looking for someone who needs to be a hero, I guess.

It was presented to me as if that were a characteristic of all men, at some level or another. Sort of like “being needed” Not true?

I don’t know. I think it depends on the guy. Luckily, there are as many different kinds of men as there are women. It just seems so tough to find the right one at the right time. Ugh.

Oh my goodness!!! This is a convo I’ve had with men in the past. If a woman is TOO self sufficient it tends to turn them off. UGH!
