But NOT taking care of health problems is infinitely more expensive for all of society in the long run. Oh, unless you're one of the privileged few and speculate along the lines of, 'if they die sooner, they'll cause fewer costs.' Realistically, any sort of universal health care plan would probably only be able to cover bare-bones expenses, with people paying extra for extra insurance benefits. But that would be a vast improvement for millions! Health care is expensive, there’s no doubt about it. But NOT taking care of health problems is infinitely more expensive for all of society in the long run.
