I’m writing this on Aug 25, but dating it July 31st because I’m catching up on linking to last year’s posts. I really think it’s valuable to me to look back and see how far I’ve come.
Besides, it’s Saturday night and Mr. Hockey is with his kids…..
ANYWAYS
A year ago on This Journey I was wondering [...]

back to civilization?

Much to tell about going down lake but I’m not sure where to start. Again. So it’s popcorn stream of consciousness for this post. agin.
***************
M&N rode down on the bus with us. The boys jumped into Chelan. It’s a tradition.
X and the L’s got off the boat and rode up the hill with M&N while [...]

labyrinth

The difference between a labyrinth and a maze is important. A maze is a puzzle. You may or may not find the solution…or your way out.
A labyrinth on the other hand is a single path that winds around a center but always brings you to the center, if you keep walking; and will always bring [...]

Assisting minister

prayers of intercession for tonight’s eucharist
*********
Called, gathered and empowered to serve, let us pray for the church, the world and all those in need.
Dearest Jesus, we ask you to teach us how to pray; how to be with you boldly, shamelessly. Even when we are too busy, or too doubtful that you hear us, or [...]

Vacation rhythm

A daily seista is a pleasant part of vacation. Just saying.
The boys hiked with M up to Hart lake on Friday. They left after breakfast and were back around 4:30. They brought 4 fish with them. Apparently, fishing was good at Hart. They caught around 10 each. They had a good time. DS1 came back [...]

It takes a village

I’ve scanned in some pictures from previous trips to Holden to keep you company while I’m gone.
A final shot of the village. Again, I wish there was smell-o-vision for blogs. The scent of the cedar trees, the warm earth, fresh bread baking and the warmth of the sun or the cool rain on your skin [...]

sunset

I’ve scanned in some pictures from previous trips to Holden to keep you company while I’m gone.
From Domke Lake (which is a backpack overnight hike we took in 2002.)

A year ago on This Journey I posted pictures of the abscessed doggie.

This lonesome valley

I’ve scanned in some pictures from previous trips to Holden to keep you company while I’m gone.
Another shot of Copper Basin. It’s one of the prettiest destinations of the hikes, even if it is the hardest (IMO)

A year ago on This Journey it was a Libby the Adventure Poodle update .

Jubilee

A bit of random observations and notes is all we have today.
*************************
Finished the weaving of DS2’s rug tonight before vespers.
*************************
Walked to the labyrinth with the boys after lunch and before the Jubilee auction. DS2 took the lead at the labyrinth and DS1 followed me. No idea whether they prayed or simply walked or really what [...]

Valderee, valderah

I’ve scanned in some pictures from previous trips to Holden to keep you company while I’m gone.
…valderah, hah, hah, hah, hah, hah, hah
Here are the boys in 2000 as we set off on a hike up valley.

A year ago on This Journey I was learning that some people were actually reading this thing! Including a [...]
