Speaking Truth to Power – A Prophet in the Wilderness

Tip of the hat to Crooks and Liars on this one. Be sure and link over and read the comments. Some are especially chilling.

Apparently there are finally some, who have found themselves in the seats of power, who can no longer keep silent about the pervading corruption of this administration.

This op-ed piece was published just 48 hours after The Man in Highest Office commuted the sentence of his friend (and crony) ‘Scooter’ Libby.

The author of the piece, John S. Koppel is an attorney for the Department of Justice. He is well aware that several dozen others have lost their jobs for even the slight appearance of not being in step with the administration. Last week he could take no more and had to speak out.

He will likely loose his job. Maybe not this week or next, but soon. And it will be a direct result of standing up and declaring this administration morally bankrupt. According to several commentors on Crooks and Liars, he could even be risking his life.

A prophet’s life has always hung in the balance.

Mr. Koppel, thank you for speaking up. You are in my prayers.
