back to civilization?
Much to tell about going down lake but I’m not sure where to start. Again. So it’s popcorn stream of consciousness for this post. agin.

M&N rode down on the bus with us. The boys jumped into Chelan. It’s a tradition.
X and the L’s got off the boat and rode up the hill with M&N while the boys and I took the boat to Stehekin.
The boys and I had a nice time up at Stehekin. Cheeseburger lunch and then a walk up to the ranger/visitor station. A short program about bears and then back on the boat.
I cried like a mom when they got off at Lucerne without me.

Checked cell phone messages as I left the Chelan Chamber of Commerce (needed to get my own highway map, duh)
McKilt’s was the first message. From last Sunday evening shortly after I left YM a message that we had made it to the B&B and turned off the phone for a 8 days.
Then it was YM saying that Libby the Wonder Poodle was doing well. Although that was last Monday, so I’ll call her now in just a few minutes and see if that lasted the week.
Then some chick from the alarm monitoring company about my cancellation (long story. mostly to do with a 40lb motion detector and a 50lb dog and not wanting to pay for a service I couldn’t turn on.)
And then JL the guy I did some contract work for over a year ago. Hah! Business must be picking up for him. He never called until he was pushed up against a wall and behind on some project or another. I’m kind of glad I can turn it down honestly by saying I have too much work to do.
I’ll make two calls tonight. The rest can wait.

No wireless at the Travelodge in Wenatchee despite the sign out front. Maybe this will all get uploaded tomorrow….or maybe not.

Talked with YM. She and Libby are doing great. Apparently it has been hot hot hot in Minneapolis and she is laying low "being a koala" and enjoying the air-conditioning. Libby is doing very well and so far, no fish have died either.
I called McKilt but got his voicemail. Left a message saying "hi! just returning your call from last Monday. I’ll give your mom a call in a bit here."
Just got off the phone with McKilt’s Mom. She is a sweet lady. Makes me wish (again) her son had a little more put together. She earnestly invited me to stop by "and meet whoever is here." Apparently her brother, who lives in Hawaii, is due to arrive sometime tomorrow…whenever the NWAirlines Overlords deign to land the plane. So she’s given me her husband’s cell phone in case they’re at a local restaurant having dinner.
I’ve lied (a bit) and said that I’ll be visiting folks up in the northern area of the city for the next couple of days but have a place to stay. Not technically true, but if she’s hosting her brother and his wife (which is what’s happening) I really can’t see accepting an invitation to stay there as well.
But she seems genuine in her invitation and I did enjoy her company and I would like to meet Step-dad for he sounds like a very interesting fellow.
I mentioned "bubble fest" which is a big beach party she throws on labor day weekend. And she said "I suppose you have to go back before then."
Oh. This is rambling enough. It’s not late but apparently I’m a bit incoherent.
tomorrow I’ll try to touch base with Sr. E and Pr. JG from Snohomish and set some fun up for Wednesday/Thursday.
Tomorrow, I’m going to drive the northern most segments of the Cascade Loop.
