failing infrastructure?

Not sure this is exactly what is meant by that phrase these days.

Mom’s surgery on Monday went well. It was potentially an artificial knee recall/replacement but turned out only to be the liner (artificial cartilage essentially) and so she was home Thursday and doing well.

Yesterday, my grandmother (her mother) tripped on a rug at her home and broke her knee. Grandma is 95. There is much dysfunctional family system drama going on around this incident that I really just can’t get up my energy to go into. In fact, I find I just can’t get up my energy to get into it at all, which I know is pissing off my mom.

Anyway, Grandma is in surgery right now (about 9:15 Sunday morning.)

Oh, and my sister (the good daughter, remember her?) twisted her ankle on Friday and wonders if she didn’t break something too.

I’d like to say I could stay away from them all because clearly there’s some bad juju going around them, but of course I’ll be heading over to Mom’s this afternoon while my sister is holding down the fort at the hospital.

I’m taking my knitting and I’m watching my step.  Just saying.

One Response to “failing infrastructure?”

I’m sorry to hear about all the family drama. I have it too. I like to say that I love my family in theory, but practice can be a little tricky.
