Just in case…

I forget and start to think that EVERYTHING on this journey is hunky and dory (because of Mr. Hockey and the swoonish feeling I have about that whole thing) I want to record a couple of things here. It is raining. again. today. Tomorrow, depending on who you listen to, is supposed to be either “partly cloudy” or “mostly sunny.” Whatever the difference is there I don’t really know. I do know that I will be spending as much of the day outside as is possible, given the fact that I’m spending it with Mr. Hockey. (And. Well, there are some things that can’t be done together outside. In the damp coolishness of fall anyway. ahem.)

Where was I? Oh yes, the Persistent Greyness of Being. So, there’s supposed to be an appearence of the sun tomorrow. And then, you ask? Sunday, rain. Monday, rain. Tuesday, probably rain. After that, who cares? It’s going to be either chaos because everyone’s gone off the deep end with mass murder in the streets, or we will all be walking around like zombies in Night of the Living Dead. Either way, sounds like fun, eh?

I’m really hoping that my lightbox arrives this weekend. It is my plan to document whether that helps my outlook of this journey. Or not. If not, we’ll be signing up for something else, because I really can’t take this another year.

SECOND – I have lost the battle (but not the war) with Budget Rental. They are claiming that I signed and executed a rental agreement for $233.xx per day and not for the whole 12 day period, like their counter employee told me it was. My credit card company has reversed the reversed charge and so now I’m back to having spent almost $4000 for a rental car. The most expensive Ford Escape ever rented in the history of the planet, I’m sure. Besides feeling like an idiot, I’m pissed. I’m not done with them yet. I’m going to call the branch directly (apparently they’re all franchises?!!?) and talk with the manager. And probably have to call the Washington State Attorney General as well. It’s just freaking ridiculous.

THIRD – because of the $4000 ($4000!!!!) short fall in the savings account and for various other probably ill thought out reasons, I’m going to try some ads around here. Please ignore them if they bug you. It’s through Blogher and I’ve been more impressed with their stuff than with the googleAds crap. We’ll see. Maybe it will pay for dog medicine? Maybe it will just annoy the heck out of me and I’ll cancel the contract after awhile. Maybe I’ll end up with a 1099 for $0.49 and it will all be an exercise in futility. I guess we won’t know until I walk down that part of the path.
