Reflections on NaBloPoMo

It’s November 30. The end of NaBloPoMo. It’s been an interesting month. I managed to post something of significance (I think they were significant anyway) every day. That was due in no small part to a couple of adventures that came my way.
I met some interesting new bloggers due to a random meme. And I [...]

Just because I’m not using it doesn’t mean I’m ready to throw it out!

Life certainly is a jumble of contradictions here these days!
In one breath, I’m bemoaning the consumerism of my birth family around the holidays and the fact that I really don’t want any more STUFF because I don’t want to be a pack rat. And don’t want to give any more STUFF and contribute to others’ [...]

Webbie Activism #3 - Helping people be self-sufficient through Heifer International

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that my family of origin is very focused on the gift giving aspect of the Christmas celebration. In that post I mentioned that if I even thought about giving Heifer Project gifts to my mom it would be a scandal of epic proportions.
Turns out, not everyone knows what [...]

can’t sleep

tests are scheduled for Thursday at 10:30 but the follow-up isn’t until 12/10. I’m going to check with my primary clinic tomorrow and see if I can try a different follow-up. I don’t want to drag this on any longer than absolutely necessary.
It was nice today that a couple of hott men (and by hott [...]

still marking

The title refers to my post from yesterday. The appointment this morning resulted in two more appointments with two different types of doctors. And a rather blunt assessment that parts will probably need to be removed.
And also that my cholesterol is back up.
dammit.

Birthday Socks

The color is a little wonky, I think. I tried to adjust to show the pattern.
Mr. Hockey gets them Thursday evening. Along with tickets to the Guthrie’s “A Christmas Carol” for Saturday night. A gift/activity we can share and a hand-made present.

Finished them Monday night and had to block them by hand because apparently sock [...]

marking time

warning: lady troubles discussed below.
Monday after a holiday weekend. Many people are out of the office and things are moving S.L.O.W.L.Y.
And I have to say I don’t mind a bit. It’s given me a chance to clean out my purse, sort and save my expense receipts, email back and forth with Mr. Hockey a little [...]

Show and tell

Proxima asked what a “corporate-wear fleece vest” looked like. Here you go! That little white thing on the left is an embroidered logo of the company training department I was working for at the time. Advertising/branding company….but not clothing designer. When I wear it people have a real hard time telling what that thing is, [...]

Taking the easy way out

I have nothing today. It’s one of those delicious holiday weekends where by some strange twist of the schedule faeries I actually get a holiday. And when I really need a holiday and really go on one, the inner dialog takes a break, too. And that inner dialog? That’s usually what I serve up around [...]
