NaBloPoMo #3

Note: So the crappy formatting of this post is apparently due to Safari. Moved to the top of the Tech Support List at Chez Journey is reinstalling Firefox. Sorry Apple. Love you but this sucks. Done.  I guess I won’t go back to Safari afterall. Have to figure out a different way to keep the  bookmarks backedup.

So, hopefully everybody made it to the new place without getting hurt. Looks familiar, eh?

I tell you what, this migrating to a hosted url (I have my own url!!) is not as easy as they’d lead you to believe. I have enough programming knowledge to be dangerous but it still took me a fair bit to get that lovely picture up there in the header.

See, I know what to do, or what needs to be done…I just don’t necessarily know where or in which file it needs to be done…or sometimes exactly HOW to do it.

All this was compounded by upgrading to Leopard last week in the mistaken notion that I’d be able to host this site on my very own computer. Yeah. That’s not happening any time soon. Well, not for a year anyway, now that I’ve paid the good people at BlueHost.com for this place for twelve months.

But perseverance got me this far. We’ll see if I can get the rest of the layout to look the way I want it.

And, because this is a my own site there are a few things I can do that I couldn’t do at the wordpress.com location.

Who cares, right?

ANYWAY. I got a call late yesterday afternoon from the music director of La Boheme. The original accordion player is still in too much pain with the broken pelvis and all to play (ya think?) so could I please come and play this weekend? Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday are firmed up. We’ll see about Thursday (I’m supposed to be at least 2 other places that night.)

I think if he wants me Thursday he should just make the decision to have me play the rest of the run.

Boys are with their dad this weekend and Mr. Hockey has his kids, so I’m up to my old tricks. I’m heading out the door to meet some other soccer moms for coffee (high-school aged now, these kids are!) and then a rehearsal for next week’s festival. Then home for a bit (maybe I can put a week’s worth of dog food cans into the recycling??? Tidy up the joint a bit??) and then the show tonight.

At least I won’t be bored.
