Birthday Socks
The color is a little wonky, I think. I tried to adjust to show the pattern.
Mr. Hockey gets them Thursday evening. Along with tickets to the Guthrie’s “A Christmas Carol” for Saturday night. A gift/activity we can share and a hand-made present.
Finished them Monday night and had to block them by hand because apparently sock blocks are not really available anywhere easily. And the wire hanger thing didn’t work. Partly because man sizes don’t really work and partly because I’m apparently too good at my “Mommy Dearest” impersonation and I could only find one wire hanger in the whole house.
For those of you interested, they are the Earl Grey pattern from Yarn Harlot, knit up in the Knit Picks Essential (75% Superwash and 25% Nylon) in the color Ash. And yes, this is the pattern I saw back in August and thought looked like a good present.

Nice socks. You haven’t spoken much about Mr Hockey. I hope things are going better between you two. What awesome gifts you’re giving him.

Anyway you could make me some ABBA socks? I would pay good money for those.

Wow, those turned out great! (Mansize socks are always a labor of love, and with cables — yowza. Mr. H. is very lucky.)
