Fun with Technology Training
One of our regional trainers experienced a death in the family and she was supposed to facilitate the training this past weekend. So LN went instead. I had this email from him this morning. (I’ve fixed some of the spelling…sometimes when he gets going spelling goes out the window.)
Ok, so I am way to old of this and can’t do it without being heavily medicated. I can’t take computer day anymore I swear. So I take them through the login and password thing a million times in a million different ways, I have them sign in and sign out and log in and log out and put their left foot in and their left foot out and their right foot in (you get the idea)… then I methodically get to the third system (the payroll system at home) and show them that they have to enter the login of “companyname.firstname.lastname” like all the others. And one of them starts screaming “mine doesn’t work mine doesn’t work” and sure enough she has entered in “firstname.lastname”….dear god, who helped her get dressed this morning so she could come to training? We had done the same thing 47 times today and she actually entered “firstname.lastname”, I said as politely as I could, “LET’S TRY ENTERING YOUR FIRST NAME AND LAST NAME!” I simply can’t take it without being medicated.
