To be more precise…pictures owned by the people of the USA.

The Library of Congress has put a whole boatload of pictures up on Flikr. And by boatload, I mean around 3100 pictures.

Two sets, so far. One of color photos from the 30s and 40s and one set of news photos from the 1910s. Looks like a lot of baseball players in that set. At least the first 30 or so. I’m going to have a look through and see if any are attributed to my great-grandfather.

Anyway, thought this was an interesting intersection of the blogosphere and gummint and “art.” enjoy.
