Spider Pig

Like beauty, humor is definitely in the eye or ear of the beholder.

I suppose that some people, listening to this bit of soundtrack would think that there is no difference between it and every other choral work. Yes, the lyric may be funny, but beyond that, it’s just a choir and kind of dorky.

But friends, this is why the creators of The Simpsons are genius. Because they find little esoteric bits to put into the show (teevee or movie) that only true geeks would “get.”

Only a true music geek would hear the compositional and choral arranging techniques this is sending up. And it makes me giggle.

To the point where my kids look at me and shake their heads. “It’s not that funny, mom!” they say.

Oh, yes. Yes, it is.

BTW, can you tell what DS2 and I watched for our Friday Night Movie?

The geek humor that the Simpsons and Family Guy use is always hilarious to me…Im a geek.

The little video is pretty funny and I like the operatic score to it, but I am not music geek enough to truly get it.
