Dying Hard in the Moonlight

I still can’t ever decide if I really really like Cher in this, or really really hate her in it. Either way, it’s a great chick-flick.

About marrying “the right” man:

Rose: Do ya love him, Loretta?

Loretta: No.

Rose: Good. When ya love ‘em, they drive ya crazy because they know they can.

About marrying “the wrong” man:

Rose: Do ya love him, Loretta?

Loretta: Yeah, mom. I love him aweful.

Rose: God, that’s too bad.

About feeding the dogs:

Rose: Old man. You give those dogs another piece of my food, I’m gonna kick ya ’til you’re dead.

About the moon:

Grandpa: The moon brings the woman to the man.

Grandpa: (to the dogs) Why do you make me wait? Howl!

About choosing who to love:

Ronny: Playing it safe is just about the most dangerous thing a woman like you can do.

I love you. Not like how they told you love is. … Love ruins everything. It breaks your heart. … We are here to ruin ourselves and break our hearts and love the wrong people and die.

Oh! and Libby the Wonder Poodle loved the movie too. Especially grandpa’s dogs. She jumped up and barked every time they were on screen.

Just so you know, I only watch the chick-flicks alone. While the boys are off with their friends…or sleeping until 2 in the afternoon.

Watched The Simpsons with DS1 when he regained consciousness and DS2 and I watched Die Hard 3 tonight.

Also on the playbill for the weekend: For Your Consideration (with them) and 1408 (without them.)

I had to undo the 2 inches of sock I had knitted because I made an error and kept dropping stitches. So the yarn is frogged* and I’ll start again tomorrow.

*frogging yarn is something you have to do when you unravel knitting before you knit with it again. When you rip out a piece of knitting the yarn is all kinked up. You must carefully wind it into loops of a medium size, soak it in water, squeeze out the water and hang the yarn to dry with something weighing it down, so it straightens out. It’s actually kind of cool, especially if you use natural fibers, like wool.

Now there’s a statement that follows my life path:
“We are here to ruin ourselves and break our hearts and love the wrong people and die.”
I wish it wasn’t so. I keep plugging along.

I love those Moonstruck quotes! I use the “kick ya til your dead” one once in a while around the house. Sometimes, I’d like to use it at work. But I don’t. Much.
