Because sometimes satire makes me giggle

And in the mood I’ve been in, giggling is good.

Please go read this whole post.

Some of my favorite bits:

Since I just got done telling my Hunter S. Thompson story (in which I learn to drink tequila shots with cowboys at the Woodycreek Saloon while Thompson looks on from across the room.)

…we were prepared to abandon him in favor of California Congressman Duncan Hunter if, and only if, Hunter would select Fred Thompson as his running mate. How, after all, could one go wrong with a Hunter-Thompson ticket, invoking the memory of the greatest presidential campaign scribe of all time? One couldn’t.

And because I simply love the collection of goofballs the Republicans have ponied up, really reminiscent of the “good old days”

…But Huckabee, although not as smart, deeply corrupt and malevolent as Nixon, does, like Nixon, offer a point of common interest with Thompson. With Nixon, it was a love for American football; with Huckabee, it’s the Bible.

Anyway. Go read the whole thing. It will make you chuckle.

If it weren’t so scary to think it could actually come down to him and his let’s abandon the constitution and set up a state religion.

Anyway.
