what is that noise?

I had to break the Blog365 day of rest to record this moment.
I’ve been working at home today (second day this week. details later) and the boys have been home from school for end of term break.
Mostly they’ve been keeping to themselves upstairs while I’ve been working hard (no really!) on writing a bunch of [...]

cosmic dust-up

This is for all the church geeks out there:
Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20).
This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.
Based on the [...]

Just paid for my registration to this:

All because I want to be greener, of course.
I can’t wait!

Insomnia

I don’t know if it’s the weather change, the final stage of SAD, something to do with the level of stress I’ve been dealing with or some weird grief work I’m finish about Mr. Hockey, but I’ve had a bit of insomnia for the last week or so.
Libby the Adventure Poodle has played her part [...]

Letter to my body

This post is in response to the BlogHer “Letter to my Body” campaign/project/thingy.
Hey Dear!
So I thought we’d take part in this because, you know, our relationship hasn’t been all that smooth over the years. Probably because I live too much in my head and haven’t appreciated often enough what you bring to this existence. Even [...]

End of Meteorological Winter

According to our Minnesota Public Radio weather office, this was the last weekend of meteorolgical winter. Astronomical winter doesn’t end until March 21 but apparently, in this part of the world, the weather is finally going to start being spring. Today, cooperated a bit. The high this afternoon was 38 degrees. It did feel nice. [...]

U2 3D

Last night I took the boys (and DS1’s girlfriend) to see the U2 3D film at our favorite cineplex. Of course, being the crazy goof-ball I am, I relied on Fandango for show times. Yeah. I guess that’s wrong to do that. We busted our buns to get there by 6:00 for a 6:30 show [...]

Fantasy Friday

Is it the blue sky, blue water and sunshine? The fact that it was vacation? That it was a very good vacation? The wonderful people I met? Or all of the above? My thoughts have drifted back today to my week of solo vacation in the Everette/Seattle area last summer.
If it wasn’t for the horrible [...]

What a trooper

I’ve been fighting off this nausea thing for a couple of days now. Achy, tired beyond usual and wishing I could just throw up. Don’t think I’ve been running a fever but who knows. I haven’t had a working thermometer in this house since the DS2 was in 3rd grade…so 5 years now.
I know there’s [...]
