Saturday Photo Scavenger: Chemistry

I woke up this morning with a bit of a headache. Since I had slept too long, I was overdue on my daily dose of caffeine. A chemical which requires delicate balance in my system. Too little or none=migraine. Too much=migraine. It’s a delicate balance this vaso-constrictor chemistry.

And so, as long as I was out and about at my neighborhood coffee shop, I thought maybe a little retail therapy might be in order. So I headed over to the mall and poked around for a bit. Decided that since my headache was still coming on a bit, I’d take advantage of the chair massages in being offered by a Chinese couple. Do people offer 10-20 minute seated massages at the malls by your home?

Best $25 I’ve spent in several months. After 20 minutes I got up and my headache was basically gone. Besides the physical adjustment of the muscles, I think there is a chemical reaction in the brain that helps one feel better too.

So, more chemistry, I’d say, hmm?

Then a quick stop by Wilson Leather, because, they’re closing all their stores in Minnesota. And you know, a sale is a sale. A few endorphines from getting a $218 coat for $59 is nothing to sneeze at. (and I hate that this is inserting this photo sideways, but I can’t spend any more time fussing with it.

Because, you see, I’m heading out to the Roller Derby. And I hope to alter my brain chemistry with some fun there too. But I expect that a certain amount of chemistry for the evening will be because of this:

Those who recognize photo are no doubt groaning. Or maybe cheering. Don’t know. Don’t care.

Wish me luck (whatever that is and would mean for the evening.)

Those are great! I used caffeine as well…a popular chemical, I’m sure.
As for the last one…hey, sometimes you gots to do what you gots to do! And who are we to deny chemistry?

Huh? Is that the chemistry of ice?

You, Laura, and Tara all mention coffee. Once again, I feel socially inept for not altering my chemistry that way.

I would call retail therapy some very potent chemistry!

Coffee is my favorite chemical on the planet. It is life blood, the building block to a great day. Well done on the word.

Good luck to you and the man with a nice smile and nice shorts!

I’ve never had a professional massage, and I’ve never run into an opportunity at the mall where they only charge $25. Perhaps I’m looking past the wrong places! :)

hey all. just to let you know there were no chemical burns tonight. Just a nice simmer.

Is it wrong to like to play with fire?

(and Tara, they’re not shorts. It’s a kilt. And yes, he was kilting even in this weather!)

That’s a lot of chemistry. I hope all went well with Mr Hockey and that he figured out his priorities. (which should be you)

Oh, I just read your comment. That’s the kilt guy, not Mr. Hockey. Oops. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with simmering.
