Saturday Scavenger: Letters

I don’t really have any photos for the scavenger, so I thought I’d refer to an old post.
Here’s Picard singing one of the songs I learned in Kindergarten, while we were learning our letters.
Well, I guess they’ve disabled embedding this one. Here’s the link: Picard sings “A, You’re Adorable”

Spending Moratorium

Moratorium:
1. a suspension of activity: a moratorium on the testing of nuclear weapons.
2. a legally authorized period to delay payment of money due or the performance of some other legal obligation, as in an emergency.
3. an authorized period of delay or waiting.

boxing

I got to my training appointment today still somewhat upset. I asked my trainer to show me her “crazy eights” routine with the idea that every time I start obsessing about that shit from yesterday, I’ll just do one of those sets instead. We’ll see if I actually do that, but I can say that [...]

Idiot

I feel like a complete idiot.
I don’t know the f*cking rules to this game.
Be assertive? Don’t be assertive? Be direct? Be coy? Tell what you want? Don’t be demanding? Be yourself? Be prim and proper and “adorable”? Ask? Wait to be asked? Be strong? Be needy? Be sincere? Be cavalier? Don’t appear desperate. Don’t appear [...]

Those little imperfections

I keep thinking about this particular scene from “Good Will Hunting” (which I just saw last Saturday. Yeah. I’m hip like that.)
I liked this especially because it was a monolog written by men, and delivered by a man. I like to think that that means that more than those three men might actually think this [...]

The start of summer 2007

what’s in a name?

Z helped me and the boys get the tub from S&L’s house into the garage. He saw my motorcycle and said he thought I need to name it.
What do you think? Should I?
Any suggestions?

Broken record

It’s been a fun and adventurous weekend so far. Haven’t gotten a lot of cleaning done, but I’ve given myself today to rest up. Tomorrow will be another work day.
I do yearn for a friend, a companion with whom to share the little stories of the day.
Going to four different stores to help find DS2 [...]

60% chance

of rain and thunderstorms this morning, so I won’t be riding the motorcycle to church.
Looks like it will rain most of the day, so it’s inside projects and fun today. DS2 wants to buy a new bike (and needs one) and also wants to go see TWO movies. (Indiana Jones and Narnia)
We’ll see [...]

holiday saturday

The boys and I got a lot of yard work done. There’s lots left to do.
I got some house cleaning done. There’s lots left to do.
I got a couple of neighborhood motorcycle rides done. There’s lots left to do.
Hope the weather holds.
Hope all are having a lovely, restorative weekend.
