Middle School Spring Musical

I’m going for the second time tonight. Opening night was Tuesday. They’re closing tonight. It’s a lot of work for so few performances, but it was fun to see these city kids singing and dancing and delivering their lines.

It was production only a mother could love (ok, dads, grandparents and other assorted suckers too) but we all loved it.

The band played more of the numbers than I expected. (It’s a hard score to play) and the rest they sang to pre-recorded music. I’m not a big fan of Karoke Music Education, but if it lets kids have this kind of experience when they wouldn’t be able to otherwise, I guess it’s OK. It at least has some redeeming factors.

Here’s the title song from the original movie production. With ol’ blue eyes himself.

that is so cool. I loved that when I was a kid, doing the plays and musicals. I cant wait for my kids to be into that.

Nice. since my ex-husband is an actor, my kids have been on stage almost since birth. they don’t get stage fright the way I do. I think it’s a positive thing for kids.
