That time of the year
I’m feeling a little blue this weekend. Partly because last week was so grueling and I didn’t get to the end of it feeling like I’d won the race at all. In fact, I missed a deadline for one of my "best" internal customers because I was so busy helping out the rest of the team.
But that doesn’t nearly cover all the bluesy-ness.
I always love this summer solstice time of year. I’m a little sunlight-dependent so this is gravy time; along with the realization that the days start getting shorter now.
But I also managed to place some big milestones of my life during this season. For instance, June 23, 2008, would have been our 24th anniversary.
It’s just a little sad to remember that dream and realize we didn’t make it. A little echo of the grief that wracked me for years leading up to the divorce and immediately afterwards.
I know intellectually, emotionally and even spiritually that I am healthier and happier now. Still it’s sad a little bit.

I can understand the sadness. As hard as you run all week long, I think you can give yourself a break on the stuff that didn’t get down. Not getting it done sounds like the exception to the rule.

I totally get that. I always think it would be great to be able to spend the rest of my life with the man I had my children with, but I’m also glad I’m not stuck with that a-hole anymore either. It’s more like I wish I could have made a better choice back then…Sigh.

IT’s a sad BIG bit. Along with good comes bad, and sad…sometimes. But it’s good to acknowledge it to yourself.
And stop running yourself ragged! I just skimmed all the posts below I missed… Whew. You’re making me tired!
