summer social

Thursdays the boys spend with their dad. Theoretically.

DS1 came over with The Girlfriend to watch some crazy shark movie (Megalodon?) When questioned it’s because "Dad has a DVD player but it’s hooked up to M&N’s old TV and it’s not that great." OK. Fair enough. Santa brought us that nice (if small for DS1) new TV this year. Watch the movie while I sort junk mail.

Then off they went.

DS2 had a baseball game this evening. But at 8:00 I got a call asking if he could go over to A’s house with "a bunch of people to watch a movie." We negotiated 11:30 to be home.

8:30 DS1 calls to see if he can go over to The Girlfriend’s sister’s house. Sure. Home by midnight.

Now DS2 texts at 11:29 and asks to stay until midnight "A’s mom said it’s OK."

OK ok.

But, um. When can I go to bed? Because theoretically I have a job I have to be at in the morning. Not to mention an appointment with my trainer before that.

ugh. Move over doggie. Mama’s going to snooze here on the couch for a bit.

Yeah. I have that issue too in the Summer. My kids can stay out later, but I still have to go to work in the morning. Wah.

    Thank goodness for communications tools!

We went for 2 weeks without cellphones and texting. It was freeing, but nerve-wracking, too!

Hope you get some rest this weekend!
