The next battle begins next week.

Hopefully all the testimonials are not made up.

unglued

I have had to borrow DCup’s moniker.
This morning, I when I opened my eyes (the 4th time; at 7:00 a.m. late. The other times had been 12:17, 2:32 and 5:24) I saw. Oh shit. You know what I saw. I screamed. Tonight (because I can’t skip work!) the declutter "team" comes to my room.
Because [...]

wonderful 3 1/2 hours

I had dinner with SB tonight. And lunch with Sr. NS! What a day for NFH!!! (heh. Rich hates it when I use all these initials)
It was good to talk with these two women. About serious stuff. About frivolous stuff. I’m feeling better/more hopeful in general- but still exhausted.
See the doc first thing tomorrow. [...]

Apology to my children

I’m sorry that I lost my shit last night when I came home.
I’m sorry you only get to sleep until 11 or 12 everyday and that I interrupt your Wii and X-Box fun with chores like "empty the dishwasher" or "trim the bushes around the air conditioner condenser so it doesn’t freeze up and [...]

Fatigue

I’m pretty sure that a person who slept as much as I did this weekend should not wake up Monday morning feeling exhausted and bone weary. Even if she did help friends move on Saturday.
This is getting ridiculous. And maybe a little worrisome. If I had the energy to worry, that is.

Grateful Octave

Little things that made me happy this week:

Arriving home Sunday after church and having Libby the Wonder Poodle greet me. And a little later, to lay her head on my lap and snooze.
Boys who willingly mow the lawn weeds. Even if they do it so that we can go to the movies.
Being able to be [...]

What “counts” and what doesn’t?

And who decides?
Today, from 9:30 until about 1:00 I helpe ZH&AH move. Out of a 2nd floor walk-up into a 3rd floor walk-up. Now, I’m short and a girl (with not much upper body strength) so I didn’t help carry the really big heavy stuff. That means I took a LOT of trips with small [...]

Abandoning Ship

As of this week the following people are leaving the Corporate Job place of employment. Some of their own volition, because they can’t stand being thrown under the bus one more time; some because the parent company is continuing to restructure without officially calling it a restructuring.

KS - Accounts Receivable Manager. In charge of the [...]

torchlight parade

Around 2 o’clock this afternoon, I decided I didn’t want to go home and hunt Mickey or clean or paint. I thought back and realized it’s been weeks since I’ve done anything just for fun.
So I sent out an email to a bunch of friends to see if any were up for a spontaneous attendance [...]

Oh, for a Kliban Cat

Do you know the Kliban Cats? If not, you’re probably not old. Like me.
Back in the late 70’s the strip ran in the local paper and I sort of fell for it. It had the same tone and flavor as The Far Side but with cats. It also was a little cute in the way [...]

Welcome!

11/18/08 Note: In preparation for being away from the computer for a while, I've turned off comment moderation because I want you to be able to interact with my guest posters. Be good while I'm gone kids!

Welcome to the new (and hopefully permanent) home of This Journey. It's good to have people walking along, especially during the bumpy parts. I can be contacted at not.fainthearted at gmail dot com. Or leave a comment!
