Please. Let this be the end of it.

I came home from church to this in my kitchen.

After screaming and running into the living room and screaming some more, I calmed down enough to take this picture.

Then it moved.

While screaming and crying and generally being skeeved out I emptied the kitchen trash can (which was in the dining room where I had last cleaned up after Libby the Wonder Poodle on Friday night. Don’t judge me). I covered the mouse with the empty trash can and set a gallon of vinegar on it.

and started calling people. ZH, SH, BP…even Pr SR who lives in the neighborhood, trying to find someone….ok A Man….to come over and TAKE CARE OF IT.

With mini mouse contained, I finished clearing out the dining room and sanding and washing the walls.

(The color I’m painting is the one on the left…when I get to the color part.)

Then finished sanding down the eggshell and washing the walls. Around 3:00 I started priming.

It was a little after 3:00 before I was able to get JB to come over and dispose of the corpse. I opened doors and gates and dumpster covers. And made “Ewwwwwwwwww” faces. A necessary part of the process, I assure you.

I quit painting around 6:00 because I was exhausted. I’m not done, but I think I could finish tomorrow evening. Then it’s just a matter of getting the paint and scheduling folks to come help. It won’t do at all to split the color into two sessions. You have to keep a wet edge on the paint or you can see the lines.

I’m priming the ceiling too because all the ceilings need to be painted. I’m hoping that the people that come to help paint will be enough that we can do the walls and ceilings in one fell swoop.

Got a phone call around 6:30 from DS1. They were back in town. DS2 was home at 8:00 and DS1 is “out playing soccer with some people” and will be home later.

It’s about 8:30 now and I’m going to take a bath to soak the paint off my arms. And then bed. I’m pooped out.

My goodness woman! You have been working so hard. When will there be a break? Hopefully you get done soon. Wish I was there to help.

Will you show us the finished product? I really like the color you chose.

I wish I was closer. I have no problem disposing of dead rodents.

I like the little color swatch tests you’re doing in the one photo. I have done than for paintings before.

Painting sucks. Except when it’s done. I am so not looking forward to painting my entire new house…
