Grateful Octave

Little things that made me happy this week:

  1. Arriving home Sunday after church and having Libby the Wonder Poodle greet me. And a little later, to lay her head on my lap and snooze.
  2. Boys who willingly mow the lawn weeds. Even if they do it so that we can go to the movies.
  3. Being able to be flexible enough with the Moratorium on Unneccesary Spending to take the boys to a matinee.
  4. Warm, lazy Sunday afternoons.
  5. It turned out I didn’t have to have my bicycle rider back to church at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday…only by 7:00 a.m. Hey! That’s almost a humane time!
  6. Because I got to work very early on Tuesday (see #5) I got to leave early. So that I could go home and hunt Mickey and Pals.
  7. The porch floor under the 30 yr old carpet, while stuck with some indoor/outdoor carpet padding, looks basically sound and probably doesn’t require repair. Just stripping and varnishing.
  8. Mickey and Pals are at least keeping The Great Declutter of ‘08 moving forward. (talk about incentive)
  9. Making the vendor go with me to watch users navigate through the prototype: Totally worth it.
  10. Even though it means we’re in a bit of a drought up here, the weather has been stunningly beautiful. Not that I’ve been out in it much…. but still, what comes through the windows when I’m working from home is beautiful.
  11. church staff happy hour. Small group but totally wonderful.
  12. Getting into the gym with my trainer on Friday; and feeling better because of it.
  13. …which renewed my incentive and motivation to do cardio and strength training on my own too. One session at a time.
  14. Hearing that DS1 might be able to finish the braces maybe by Christmas.
  15. Beautiful weather to ride my motorcycle to the places I need to be.
  16. Giving myself permission to listen to my body and Not Do Anything on Saturday afternoon and evening.

Very nice. I like that you take the time to list all of these things for which you are grateful.
