wonderful 3 1/2 hours

I had dinner with SB tonight. And lunch with Sr. NS! What a day for NFH!!! (heh. Rich hates it when I use all these initials)

It was good to talk with these two women. About serious stuff. About frivolous stuff. I’m feeling better/more hopeful in general- but still exhausted.

See the doc first thing tomorrow. Just to rule out all the crazy talk the hypochondriac in my head is spewing (colon cancer, hanta virus, brain tumor, thyroid disease. You know. The usual.)

PC is doing well after her wrist surgery today, but she’ll be out of commission for at least 10 more full calendar days and then even when she’s back, she won’t be able to type for a couple more weeks. Moral of her story is: Sit down to put on your jammies. (She fell and broke her wrist when her foot got caught in the leg. "….broke right off…" was how it was described at the staff meeting yesterday. I had to run out of the room to keep from hurling at that description. Oy. The drama.)

All would be hunky and dory if I hadn’t seen ANOTHER fucking mouse in the house when I came home from dinner tonight.

SrSW told me last night that when she had mice in her dorm room, the thing that worked the best for her was to get an old towel, have a friend’s ferret sleep with the towel for a couple of days and then tear the towel into strips. Lay the strips near where the mice are known to be and they’ll get out because ferrets are mice hunters.

Not exactly sure how to word that craigslist ad. But if I think of something, you can be sure you’ll be the first to know.

(suggestions welcome in the comments.)

Sadly, when we’ve had mice, we use poison. Most of the time the go away and I don’t have to find them. The humane traps? they live forever in them!
