DS2: Mom?
Me: mmm?
DS2: Have you heard any mice in your room?
Me: mmmhuh?
DS2: Have you heard mice in your room tonight yet?
Me: uh, no, I don’t think so. Not yet, why?
DS2: So you think that extra stuff helped?
Me: I guess? why?
DS2: [looking tired and sad] cuz. I think they’re in my room now.
Me: did you hear mice in your room?
DS2: uh huh.
Me: well. We’re up now. Do you want to go downstairs with me and we’ll make up some more packets of repeller stuff for your room? They’ll probably leave right away.
DS2: no? [doesn't move]
Me: uh. Ok. You don’t want to go down and try to get them out of your room? [no reply] So are you going to sleep on the couch?
DS2: Can I just sleep here?
Me: sure honey. just don’t kick me.

It was mostly a quiet rest of the night. And he has put more repellent around in his room this afternoon. Hopefully, soon, we’ll all be sleeping again.

Sounds like you’ve got your own personal pestilence. I hope those little buggers go away.
