Grateful #14

I’ve heard that you have to do something 21 times in a row for it to become a habit. Maybe that’s why I’ve struggled the last couple of weeks to even remember to count my blessings, much less to post them. And yet, I’ve managed to do it for 14 weeks now. Only another week of weeks until it will be easy to remember, right? Well, maybe that’s the nature of being human, or of spiritual disciplines. In any case, here is a short list of things that made me happy this week.

  1. Dinner with Z&AH yesterday evening.
  2. Launching 3 courses in one week.
  3. Having a wonderful lunch with Sr. N.
  4. Getting positive feedback on the Honking Big Course and only a reasonable amount of changes.
  5. Making it to most of 2 JV soccer games.
  6. Watching my boys take the next steps of growing up (they seem so big now that they’re in 12th and 9th grade!!!!)
  7. Boys that will humor their old mom, and let her take pictures of them in front of the door on the first day of school.
  8. No mouse sounds since Tuesday.
  9. A doctor (Ok. Nurse practitioner, really) that doesn’t dismiss my concerns with a pat on the head.
  10. NOT having my exhaustion related to any number of horrible blood diseases or cancers
  11. A shiny new prescription to Ambien to help me sleep through the mouse noises…if there are any. (Now if I could just get it picked up from the Pharmacy that has bankers hours!)
  12. The RNC is O.V.E.R. and those people are out of my town.
  13. Organizers who are not worried about the general public buying some of the stories that were on sale at #12.
  14. That this coming week looks much less busy than this week was.

I hope this week is less hectic for you. Isn’t weird to see our kids getting so old?…And yet, we haven’t aged at all.

I love that your boys still let you take their picture. I am glad to hear the week won’t be too busy. Good for you.
